IAPSS DATA BASE FOR SUPERINTENDENTS

Have you ever wondered if another superintendent has found a good way to deal with those daily, weekly or yearly challenges that every school corporation encounters?  These could range from the classroom to board meetings and all the myriad of other responsibilities that superintendents are responsible for as they lead a school corporation.

How does one best prepare all year long to construct the budget, how do you prepare for negotiations and that perhaps regular experience known as discussions?  Are there dos and don’ts to overseeing bus maintenance and preparing for bus route bidding?

These are the multitude of issues, both inside and outside the classroom that many of us have learned to deal with from perhaps a mentor or by observing as we climbed the administrative ladder.  Do you ever wonder if there is a strategy, process or procedure that other superintendents have developed that would be of help to you if you only knew about it?  You may need to adapt an idea to fit your own district, but a new approach may not only save you time and money but make your life as a superintendent more fulfilling and productive.

IAPSS is undertaking a project to facilitate the development of a Data Base where not only instructional but non-instructional ideas and practices would be available.

TOPICS THAT WE'D LIKE TO START WITH ARE:

          Staff Back to School Programs/Activities
Orientation Programs for New Staff (classified and certified)
